So this year, I thought it would be both interesting and professional *ahem* to keep a record of how many dolls I make and to also take a photo of every doll before I send it off.
So far I've made 25 dolls in 2013, and have some gorgeous ones on order.
I have a theory about my doll making, about why I do it. I'm pretty sure it's just to feel a sense of accomplishment - to be able to finish something; that sense of completion a mama rarely gets in her usual food-making, laundry-washing, behaviour-training role. In fact I have a suspicion that's why a lot of women get all crafty when they have babies. What do you think?
Anyway, I don't often share much of my doll-making lark here (I fear boring you - another doll...big fizz... *yawn*...) but if you ARE interested you can see all my 2013 dolls on the Tiny Eyes Facebook page.

Never bored by your dolls, they're stunning!
ReplyDeleteAs for your theory, I reckon you're spot on.
I love them, I really want one. Popping over to your shop now! xo
ReplyDeleteStunning!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous work!
Absolutely stunning!
LOVE the dolls! Really, I know I would love to see all the dolls as you make them--I bet others would feel the same. That would never bore me at all.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Cheryl
oh, bring them on! I would love to see them all. Each one is beautiful and has such a different personality. I photograph all my creations before they go out to market and for orders...its cool to see the progression of design. You have made so many already this year! Whoop...super inspired over here! I am still working out the juggle of health issues, working from home, homeschooling thang..sadly and mostly unusually for me, my beloved crafting has been lacking. I am off to sew!
ReplyDeleteI so agree Dee having a tangible 'thing' that measures what we achieve with our days - it's good for me mentally I must say :o) these are gorgeous xx of course xx
ReplyDeleteThey really do have their own personalities - very clever!
ReplyDeleteI love all your dolls so far for 2013. They are totally gorgeous. I have missed them while I have been MIA from blog land for the last 6mths. Infact I have totally missed your blog. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing more of your fabulous creations through out 2013. Re your theory my creating started long before I took on the Mummy role but I can honestly say it has never felt more important.
ReplyDeleteYour dolls have beautiful faces :-) Kind almost! lovely work.
